If you know you need more financial control and you want to understand more about finance but you are not yet ready for a part time Finance Director, then finance coaching is an excellent solution.
In finance coaching the emphasis is on you and your business so that you understand:
- How to think in terms of profit and cash
- How your business model generates or consumes profit and cash
- The performance measures you need to be looking at every day, week, month or year
- How to interpret accounting reports, identify problems and know how they can be corrected
- How to use budgeting and forecasting to manage the future health of your business
The precise details of the finance coaching will depend on your needs but it will cover:
- Finance training on the main accounting reports and how they fit together to tell the story of your business performance.
- The main performance drivers for your business.
- How these performance drivers can be combined to form a simple but comprehensive model of your business which can be used to assess the effect of future decisions.
- The design of your regular performance reports.
- Review of your monthly performance and discussions about the implications and consequences of what is happening together with ideas to improve performance.
Why I Should Be Your Finance Coach
I am a chartered accountant who spent ten years working in industry and commerce as a finance director, financial controller or accountant.
Since I became self employed in 1995, I have help interim finance positions and acted as a part time Finance Director although I have now withdrawn from that more hands-on involvement to concentrate on more general business coaching. I have also provided Finance for Non-Financial Managers training courses for experienced managers, NVQ levels 3 & 4 and modern apprentices.
My finance coaching is based on Pillar 1 of my Eight Pillars of Business Prosperity coaching model which looks at how you measure and manage performance and finance.
To find out more about my finance coaching (UK companies only) please call 0121 554 4057 or email me at paul@plancs.co.uk.
If you leave a message please tell me your telephone number slowly and repeat it. Unfortunately my answerphone only allows messages to be played back once which can be frustrating for both you if you leave a message and me when I hear someone needs some help and I can't write down the telephone number.
