Planning & Control Solutions Ltd is a small business coaching and consultancy firm who specialise in improving the profitability and cash flow of small and medium sized businesses.
As the name suggests, this involves helping companies plan for their future and control their performance.
Unlike firms of accountants we don't provide auditing or tax advisory services so we're not looking to replace your current advisers.
Instead we work alongside them providing extra services. As this can mean extra costs we know we have to add value to keep your business.
We have chosen to stay very small and we can only handle a limited number of clients.
This means that we can specialise by taking an active interest in your business, get to know it in detail and build strong relationships with you and your managers so that together we can identify ways to improve your business performance.
That's how an advisor can really earn his fees - BY IMPROVING YOUR BOTTOM LINE.
In fact we don't employ any staff, so you can be sure that you are dealing with someone who is highly trained and experienced although we do have registers of qualified, experienced Finance Directors and Business Coaches.
The principal consultant, Paul Simister BA FCA MBA is a chartered accountant who has been providing independent consultancy services since 1995.
Before that for five years he was Finance Director of Barton Engineering, at that time a 250 employee manufacturing/distribution business within the Caparo group, where he had broad commercial responsibilities including sales, purchasing, production planning and stock control on top of finance and IT.
Since 1995 Paul has handled clients in manufacturing and service industries that range from 2 employees upwards. His clients have included family and owner managed businesses, subsidiaries of large quoted groups and the head offices of two public limited companies.
In 2003 Paul was awarded his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with distinction from the Manchester Business School.
Following the award Paul said "I'm delighted to gain a distinction in my MBA which put me in the top 7% of graduates at one of the leading business schools in Europe. I studied for the MBA because I wanted to demonstrate that I have a much wider perspective on business than accountants usually have. That's what is needed to really make a difference for my small and medium sized clients."

Our Philosophy
It's not our place to tell you how you must run your business. It's your company and all the decisions have to be made by you.
But we will act as guides and advisers to encourage you to look at the business in different ways to provide new insights and control and help you find solutions to the constraints that stop you reaching your goals.
